About me
Dr. Sherman joined the SEI after a career in the private sector at both start-ups and F100 companies.
Immediately prior to joining SEI, Dr. Sherman retired from IBM where he held leadership positions in development, strategy, marketing and sales. He was also CTO and VP Product Management at Transarc, a CMU spinoff that was acquired by IBM. Dr. Sherman was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Dartmouth College and has lectured as an adjunct and Cylab Affiliated Faculty at CMU.
Dr. Sherman’s professional experiences include research and development of programming languages and compilers, graphical user interfaces, mobile systems, FinTech, networking protocol design and implementation, integrated hardware/software appliances, transaction processing systems, manufacturing supply chains, medical information sytems/EMRs and cybersecurity.
